The Crowning Touch...

TA-DA!!! Finally--the sign is up!!! You have NO idea (well, some of you have heard the story...sorry!) what trouble we had getting this sign! But now--here it is!

My niece Molly, who is 11, has been particularly troubled by the fact that we have had a store all this time and no sign yet--and she's in Tennessee this week and didn't even get to see it today! When Molly first asked me what I was planning to put on the sign, I asked her what she thought I should put. Without me telling her {{anything}}, she described the exact design that I had come up with, including the colors and the tilted crown. Cool, huh? =)

The Stuff...

We finally got all of our slatwall displays together--and Christen, Mom, and I have been very busy! Do you see anything you like...? =)

Choosing and displaying products--and hearing attendees at crops and the retreat oohing and aahing over the goodies--is pretty neat. I know that feeling--to be a customer who has just seen that new product, that little goodie that will be the perfect accent to a layout or project.

But here's the truth...it's not about the stuff.

Hmmm...did you expect to read that in the blog of a new scrapbook store owner?

Here's the thing--would we even want the "stuff" if we didn't have the blessings of family and friends? Would that adorable blue and red star paper or the cute yellow polka-dot ribbon or those precious pink and green flowers mean anything to us if we didn't have children, husbands, nieces, nephews, parents, friends, and grandparents that we wanted to celebrate in our scrapbooks? We might find the supplies pleasing on a purely aesthetic level, but would our hearts beat a little faster upon entering a store without the prospect of creating a page or a project to capture a memory of someone we love? Not likely.

So--it's not the stuff that's important. Really.

It's the anticipation you shared with your brother and sister as you opened presents in front of the Christmas tree at the house you grew up in. It's the memories of your wedding day. It's your baby's first smile, her first steps, her first day of school, her first date. It's the Thanksgiving meals, the family reunions, the beach vacations, the Easter egg hunts, the new houses, the high school graduations--and all the everyday moments in between that are important.

The stuff just gives us a way to capture those moments--to celebrate, to remember, to create lasting treasures of our blessings. We want to help you do that. We want to celebrate your memories with you.

We officially open a month from today. Come see us.
